Chloride Exide Botswana (Pty) Ltd was established in 1990 to produce 30,000 automotive batteries a year for the Botswana market.

Following a 20 year period of growth, the company established a state of the art factory in Phakalane. The facility is capable of producing over 500,000 automotive batteries per annum, with approximately 70% of output supplied to the export market.
